Explorers

Granite Falls Fire Department offers an Explorer program through the Boy Scouts of America. The Explorer program offers a young adult between the ages of 14 and 18 the opportunity to train and learn about being a firefighter.  This program is great for students that may have an interest in emergency services as a career.  The Granite Falls Explorer program has been the cornerstone for many young adults achieving their goal of obtaining a career as a firefighter. Former participants in the Explorer program have gone on to become Fire Chiefs at three fire departments, a Captain at the Charlotte Fire Department, and fire professionals at several local fire departments.
